Great! Congrats! Hope you enjoyed that drive.

I bought mine from Melbourne BMW.

Was on a list in Melbourne and also in Fields BMW in Winter Park. Got a call from Melbourne a day after Winter Park CA was double checking my build specs since they were getting allocation that week and mine was landing there also.

Very exciting to start seeing the MY2017 cars. Someone really needs to make an in-depth video overview of the iDrive 5.0, Apple Carplay, etc. Otherwise if there are none by October when I expect delivery, I'll make a series of videos.

Hoping Android Auto comes soon though. The one disappointment will be the lack of touchscreen for these which was an oversight by BMW.

More like a cost cutting measure.

I actually appreciate the lack of a touch screen, touch screens in cars are a poor choice of input device IMO. I would like to see programmable physical buttons though to give some of the same level of software/on-the-fly customization that a touchscreen offers without requiring a touch screen input device. Perhaps a row of buttons below the display that can have a description/purpose displayed above them by software and have an app specific purpose. Otherwise a more full featured haptic-feedback touchscreen like this: http://blog.caranddriver.com/we-try-...effectiveness/ might do the trick, I haven't used one though.

If the iDrive controller acts as a touchpad, that would be a fine alternative. I'm not a fan of touchscreen as a primary input in a vehicle, but to not have it at all is silly. Zooming in on maps, the ability to customize inputs, etc. Again, having it as a supplement to some physical button input is ideal.

I realize it was a cost cutting measure, but this plus a few other minor things (front parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, etc) could have easily been added at a minimal cost increase and wouldn't surprise me if they show up in the slightly refreshed 2018 model.

Ok cool thats good to know, yea I dont have any issue with the existence of a touchscreen for people who like it, just if it were a primary/only input device I would be a bit sad.

As a week 36, you should have started production late last week since based on timelines reported in this thread, the weeks coincide with end of production and production is on average about two weeks. Some were slightly shorter so there is still an opportunity to meet that if it starts production today or tomorrow. I would call BMW Genius to confirm where you are in the process.

True my week 36 showed it start production 8/26. When I call the 800# it says it should finish production 9/9.

Agreed with above. According to timelines posted in this thread, a week 36 build would coincide with a production completion between Sept 5 - Sept 11, which means it should've started by now. Unless yours is one of the ones that will get built in about 9 days. As they said above, I'd call the BMW Genius line and just double check that everything is on schedule.

I am getting pretty frustrated, to the point I may want to cancel my order all together. Long story short, I put a deposit down in February, and was expecting my M2 in June. You are all familiar with the drill, so I won't bore you.

it arrived at the port in Baltimore on the 25th. Carrier scheduled to pick it up on the 28th and deliver to dealer on the 30th (today). Well it is still at the port for final processing, and now they are saying they are expecting it to leave the port on 9/8. The CA is trying to figure out what the hold up is, it shouldn't take that long and should have left the port by now. My vin was not impacted by the differential issue. Anyone else have their car waiting at port since the 25th?
