Agree with doug_999 regarding the lack of a controlled suspension rebound on crappy roads. Would describe it as a abrupt rebound or maybe bucking is a better description. Was excited about the M2c since there were early reports they returned the suspension only to later find out there was nothing different.
Regarding running 18's, don't think that will help much. Maybe it feels better with winter tires, but remember, winter tire compound is much softer. Putting summers on 18's, doubt you'll notice it. |

Bushings were changed in the rear on the M2C I believe.

It’s no Cadillac but it’s also no worse than some of the prior BMWs I’ve owned (Z3MC, e46 M3, e92 M3) and it’s probably about the same ride quality as the Audi RS5 I traded in on it. I drink coffee every day in the car. Sometimes when you have a filled to the brim Starbucks cup you might have to pick it up when you go over speed bumps or around corners to stop it from sloshing around, but I think that’s pretty normal for most cars, let alone sports (sporty?) cars.
The 19” snow tires are definitely more compliant than the stock MPSS, but my coffee doesn’t care about that. I’ve never spilled my drink from hitting a pothole or from bumpy roads. FWIW I also have 18” 513m summers going on in a couple weeks so I’m interested to see how comfortable they are compared to the 19’s. |

I agree that the Chicago roads are terrible, but I find that our OG M2 seems to absorb the imperfections in a more docile manner. We hit a decent sized hole in the F80 on Monday and I thought I had flipped the car. To the OP - we are basically splitting hairs here - both have a firm but definitely doable ride quality for DD duties. And to me, there's no appreciable difference between the adaptive suspension settings on the M3, for what it's worth.

I switched over to MPS4S. Came from stock MPSS's and did notice less road noise and more comfort, but I think it has more to do with tire size. I did go up one size from stock. 255/275/35 instead of 245/265/35. No rubbing on stock suspension, slightly more ground clearance, noticeably quieter and comfier. I think it's perfect for the streets.
