I don't put anything in BMWBLOG, at least for the M2 comp they have only repeated forum information a few days later I don't think they have any sources other than we do. And they have said a lot of wrong information about this car thus far. At first they said the "CS" would be unit limited then they said HS will be limited to 1k units. They don't know anything.

There is still hope for the M2 CS after the M2 Competition. A subset of these parts were booked out of inventory a little over a week ago.

The entire list is pretty large. I am only posting a subset which have M2 CS logo in them.

Can you elaborate on this, what inventory were the parts ordered from? This is an exciting development!

(Although your post on the other thread suggests the CSL was 'sacrificed' for this)

Indeed. For example, does the work Roll Cage appear anywhere? Or rear seat bench.

No roll cage or bench. Such exciting things as luggage compartment and tank appear.

There are also such boring things as Stossabsorber Oben ECE M2 CS, Stossabsorber Oben US M2 CS, Bumper Contribution Forward left and right etc. etc.

Yeah, but there is something exciting for the trackday fans:
BREMSLUFTFUEHRUNG M2CS
Which means brake air duct. Something the M2 is really missing so far.

Nobody has made a kit yet? I did this on my E36. Just a hole and some ducting.

Thing is, there is hardly any room for brake ducts in the recent M2.
I'm curious to see where they will route them on the CS.

They do seem to be reworking the front end. Maybe this is why.

Although I was willing to throw money at my dealer this summer to be first on the M2 CS list they refused stating the car was but a rumor. I bought my current M2 from them so I was promised dibs on the first CS as soon as it was made official.

Two weeks ago I finally got the call from my rep. His source at BMW Canada had finally confirmed via email that the CS was coming. Monday I was shown the email and it simply said that the CS was coming and it was going to be limited, nothing about options, price, or release dates yet.

For my dealer, this source was good enough that they finally took a deposit. When I got home I looked up the sources name on LinkedIn and I was happy to see he had a job in production at BMW Canada! Im choosing not to reveal this persons name as I just dont know if I should.

With the recent cancellation of the CSL I find the timing of my dealers call interesting. Did they scrap the CSL in favor of a less radical CS?

Congrats and thanks for posting confirmation from someone at BMW Canada.I already secured the first allocation that my dealer is getting for the BMW Competition last year.I am sure it is going to be an awesome car.

Is the CS coming out the same time the Competition is? Or this is the same vehicle?

Mineral Grey was dropped because it is very close to black and it also had a low take rate.

I'm sure that BMW will find a way to make a different silver variation, and probably also somehow miss the mark on making a classic silver.

Ideally I would like HS to be a light silver but you can't trust BMW since Silverstone
I would like to see Titanium Silver (TiAg) back into the M cars.

Upcoming G80 M3 prototype spotted with same muffler design as the spied M2's we've seen over the past several months.

I noticed that too. Now if that double cleft feeds into a diffuser....

The inquiry was into the CS, and almost word for word, all the email said was that the CS was coming in limited numbers. Sadly there were no other details.

I wonder if BMW M has heard the customer complaints regarding the exhaust note and are looking to rectify it

Just a little more information on the CS/Competition:

There are almost a total of about 1000 parts under the project that corresponds to M2 CS. Most of them seem to be pulled from the M3/M4 and some even from the base M2 based on the names of the parts.

Also, the project according to the current schedule should be ending in 08/2018. That is till when there will be resources assigned to work on that car. This is around when production of the M2 Competition is slated to begin.

Will need to check if there is a project called the M2 Comp.

You're killing me here. Now I'm more confused. We've heard that the internal code for the car is M2CS but that it will be named the Comp. Are you saying that this work will go into the Comp or that this will be in the "as yet unnamed" hotter version in 2019?
