Lightweight-Performance M2 CSR: The quickest ever BMW tested at the Sachsenring
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com 1:29.73 lap time at the Sachsenring, best time ever for a BMW. the price is eye opening too: 200.000 Euros! Just to put things in perspective, the M4 GTS has a time of 1:33.17, the M4 CS 1:34.01, The M3 CP: 1:36.69, The M2: 1:37.65. The McLaren 720S 1:29:46, the Ferrari 488 GTB: 1:30.99, the Porsche 911 Turbo S 1:31.23 This is an amazing tune based on the M2: - 125kg or 276lbs weight savings VS Stock M2 (1440kg VS 1565kg) thanks to the liberal use of carbon fiber everywhere (inside and out) & the deletion of the rear seats. - tuned M4 GTS engine developing 598ps (589hp) and 737Nm (543 ft.lb) torque - Bilstein dampers, in-house titanium exhaust, full cage etc... Their M3 CSL tune is pretty impressive too ;-) Lap time here:

Definitely should make the front page.
Dynamic wise, the best M2 or any BMW by far there ever is as we know.

And there is your pure bred M2 GTS. It is incredible what some weight savings can do, albeit with a serious power improvement. The M2 platform has obvious advantages and I'm super excited to see what BMW does with an M2 CSL. Say 100 hp and 20 kg less than this example and it will be an instant collectible. Too bad I won't be able to afford one!

The lightweight one that is sold, doesn’t have the middle section i thought. If they sold one with the middle section I’d be interested... clean and all.

What's cool is that it's a daily drivable vehicle (albeit stiff and loud)....power windows, HVAC, radio, iDrive. I'd take it a step further and remove the cage and wing for further weight reduction, items not needed for the street. 2 steps further....replace DCT with MT.

Jesus Christ, I am excited to see what a M2CS, even whatever the next gen M2, will have to offer us. It's insane how good this platform is. Sad we get bad mouthed by some M-Owners cause our car isn't "a true m-car", BLEH!

For parts information you can go to their website. They have a US distributor too...

LOL I know (as I said, I already have the front-lip from Lightweight)...you just aren't being super helpful (link? site location? US distributer selling the candards?)...it's fine. I'm sure the canards literally do nothing in terms of aero...

This is a 180K Euro car. Probably cost will be reduced to 120k with less bespoke Carbon bits. Only GTS engine, coilover, lighter but comfortable seats (HUGE weight saving there) and carbon roof/hood would be good enough. Still a 150lbs lighter car.
Or heck, let's just make do with engine(30k?) and suspension(3k), a 90k Euro car.
