I was awaiting an allocation. Chapman BMW notified me today they received an allocation. I no longer need it so wanted to pass this along. Hopefully someone here can jump on it!

BMW Cleveland (in Solon) may have gotten their next round of allocations, since I just got a phone call from them telling me my slot had come up... I was on their waitlist back in April, but then got an allocation sooner from a different dealership, so I canceled and got my deposit back. Don't think they had anybody behind me, but no way to know for sure.
So if you're looking for an allocation, try giving them a call before they spec it to their own stupid standards with a ton of M-Perf stuff and other MSRP-padders.

cars.com show 49 new 2017 and 2018 m2's
Sounds from members responses that the M2 is allocated quarterly, not each month. Anyone disagree?
I surfed cars.com a few minutes ago, there are 2018 M2 - 25 2017 M2 - 24 For a total of 49 being sold new with no miles on them . There seems to be alot for sale no one has spec'ed or some maybe the buyer backed out on or some without a buyer and dealer spec'ed it, maybe this is the end of the long waits. |

Funny, me too! They must've had a few of them allocated... either that or the market is softening a bit.

If I understand it correctly, that is the week the car finishes production. So, that's the first full week in November... should be here early December. |

I dropped by to get my trade appraised yesterday, made my deposit and got my Vehicle Inquiry Report with my production number on it. I asked my CA what the expected build week would be, and he said he'd email me that info. So far, no email Hopefully, it's a week 45 build as well... we'll see.

So I can take a week 50 allocation or wait for the first allocation my CA gets in 2018. I prefer to not take delivery during the Chicago winter since it won't be my DD. Other than getting the car sooner, any benefit to taking the week 50 allocation versus waiting?

The only risks I can see in waiting are 1) the allocation you get later might deliver the car later than what you'd prefer. 2) mid-model-year price increase (unlikely, but not impossible), 3) Increase in cost of money (a risk only if you would finance). |

Thanks for your thoughts, I decided to just take the wk 50 allocation. I have a heated garage so I can just sit and stare at it for a month or so while the snow melts...lol |

Exactly. I should be getting mine in October, I'll probably just be able to get through break-in before I put snow tires on it...

I also just got a week 50 allocation (December 11-16). In discussion with my salesman i decided to do PCD which is a minimum of 8 weeks after but upto 12 weeks after, so that makes it late february to early march which means i should be able to drive back from SC. He also floated the idea of ED to pick up car, but not drive (save $) and further delay delivery a few weeks. Can't do the ED due to schedule but interesting idea.
