Current Dakota leather with blue/orange stitching is going to be the regular option right? How about the perforated one, is there seat ventilation or it's just for looks?
No alcantara or new/different seats by any chance?

Can someone please post how Hockenheim silver looks. Does not need to be a BMW, any car will do. If it's not Hockenheim silver, can someone post something close to it.

Paul-Bracq-BMW : You here mate ?? We need some professional quality rendering again.

These are two independent variables, so four leather choices total. Perforation is just for looks I think, ventilation is not an option.

Ok I see it now it's also an option for Active Tourer - Perforated Dakota or just Dakota leather

So WTH is going on? Not for the first time BMW have bottled the naming and ended up with a Frankenstein of a name. Neither a CP nor a CS.

Anyone remember the 1 Series M Couple debacle?

As others have said, goes completely against what M Division heads have been quoted as saying publicly.

Does that mean there will be a CP and a Competition?

No, there is no "Competition Pack". The "Competition" version the official BMW doc refers to is what we've been calling the CS unofficially.

Shame too that it's Sunset Orange and not Sakhir. Having seen it in the flesh on a M240i I'm hoping it suits the M2 more (IMO of course).

Interesting to see what the Hockenheim Silver looks like too.

Any confirmation if the M2 competition or CS will be a 4 or a 2 seats car?

I am not surprised it is Sunset Orange and not Sakhir because BMW is already painting the 2 series in Sunset Orange at the Leipzig plant. The question is what other model at the Leipzig plant is going to be built in Hockenheim Silver because I doubt that the M2 will be the only car built at the Leipzig plant in that color.BMW just doesn't want to add an exclusive M2 color at the Leipzig plant.Only reason would be the cost of adding a color not used on any other model at the plant.

Really good post, good point. Mind you the M2 is the only LBB at Leipzig I think, with X5/6M being US plant.

2018 is too soon.... Hopefully later. Individual is a hot debate within BMW and MINI.

You are correct.I thought that the X4 M40i which is also available in LBB was made at the Leipzig plant. It is actually made at the BMW US plant in South Carolina.

Let's hope Mineral Grey is still on offer for the M3 CS

Perforation: Yes!!! My dreams of summer driving in a sub $100K BMW not being a miserable experience due to heat may be true!

No ventilation: What a shame. Even a $27k Hyundai sonata and $37k Chevy impala come with this. All that is is required is a plastic duct, a high static pressure fan, and a button.

Agree, I just don't understand why every car doesn't have ventilated seats! Even when I lived in Ohio I used the ventilated seats on my Lexus and I never used the heated seats, though my wife would occasionally. Now in Arizona, we have never used the heated seats and I use the ventilated seats 90% of the time the car is running.
