is it just me? or maybe the lighting? For those who have seen this color a number of times does an LBB look really blue? Saw one the other day in a dealership (evening) and it is not even blue it looks aqua green to me. not sure if it just lighting. appreciate any feedback i'm about to order this color but I got discouraged by what I saw. The weird thing is when I was about to snap a picture - my CP shows blue color but the actual color we see (my SA agrees with me) is an aqua green. appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

I don't see any green. It's a more electric blue in sunlight (think darker version of Mini's electric blue) and straight up badass blue in overcast weather.

I know what you mean... but it looks blue in 90% of lighting situations. Showroom lighting is the place I find it looks the most aqua.. that and twilight. But mostly it is just an awesome looking blue. I am very happy with my colour choice!

This same thing happened to me. I may have even mentioned it in a post here at the time. I went to my dealer to see my car but it had gotten delayed a day at the port so it was not there. However another forum member's was there in the parking lot. It looked very greenish. My SA agreed. I snapped a pic on my phone and in the pic it looked blue. Very strange. I picked mine up a couple of days later. I have never noticed the green in mine but I'm sure the day will come when the light hits it just right and I'll see the green.

Under detailing lights in doors = really blue
On the road in daylight = more turquoisey Looks mega when the sun hits it too - which we're not getting much of in the UK right now. I changed on the final day before build was locked in from BSM to LBB and don't regret it for a second (thought I might as I'd never seen the colour in person until my car arrived). It's an ///M, be seen!! |

I have taken pictures of the car and it has looked 3-4 different colors. All depends on the lighting. But pictures don't always capture the true shade you see with your own eyes.
First time I saw the car was at Daytona Rolex 24 and the color looked very dark because it was a cloudy day and I decided to order AW. After I was called to go test drive the car I saw the LBB sitting in direct sunlight and it was a game changer. After that I changed my built sheets at both dealers to be LBB.

As others have mentioned, definitely depends on lighting. The first time I saw it in person, it looked like a darker blue. Then I took a trip in August and saw one parked near the JFK airport in NY at one of those 'Parking Spot' places and it was a bit overcast with some sun peeking through and the turquoise was very prominent.
Since I've owned the car I have not seen the turquoise but either the metallic blue in the sun or the deeper shade of blue on cloudy days. I was debating between MG or this for quite some time and I don't regret the choice one bit. |

IMHO, try and see one in person, be it an M2 or an X5/6 M because it's nigh impossible to capture the color correctly. |

Personally and this is just my opinion so let me qualify my statement that way first before anyone gets mad
I saw LBB a number of times. When it showed up at the dealership on a sunny day. After going for a ride in it and then parking in the shade. Then that evening after a detail and in the showroom and outside when it was dark out. Every single time no matter the lighting it changed from different shades of teal, seafoam green like ocean water. Never once did I think it was blue in any sense of the word. I think aqua marine was used above. I could see that before I would say blue. Every picture I see where it's a rich blue has to be photoshopped in my opinion as I never once saw it even come close to being blue. Estoril blue is blue to me. I like that blue. personally I don't love LBB but with black accents and still being an M2 after all nothing can look bad. |

As an LBB owner and a past Lemans Blue owner, I'd have to agree with quickM2. Although it's to some degree in the eye of the beholder, to my eye, there is lots more greenish turquoise in LBB than shades of blue. People that have seen this color for the first time have so far told me the same. By the way, that photo of Estoril next to LBB is one of a handful that seems to capture the true color of LBB in a photo. This is how it looks most of the time to me. This color pops big time but is definitely polarizing. When I first saw LBB on an SUV (x6?) I thought it was awful. Seeing it a week later on my car I liked it, but blue is a misnomer as far as I'm concerned. More like blueish teal.

That's the beauty of LBB. It is a chameleon of a color. It keeps people guessing even though it is primarily of a blue hue, albeit slightly creeping into the green side.
With AW, BSM, and MG you get what's advertised. All look great on the M2. I, for one, like sunny surprises, so am going LBB. |

Agreed. If one can't see the teal/aquamarine/green in this photo, then one must be colorblind and LBB is definitely for you ! : For me, between the pair.. Estoril blue kills LBB all day long. Personally I prefer a proper blue. From the same generation as estoril was Avus blue ! I love vibrant blues like San Marino and Interlagos. I don't mind a little bit of changeling in it, especially if it flops more toward black like Tanzanite blue , azurite black , and carbon black. All that said, LBB is a unique color that does look good on its own, much like Valencia orange. Both colors also are very much 2010s colors and over time will be immediately recognized from this decade which has lots of blues and oranges. |

Had Estoril blue been the "blue choice" on the M2, I'd have retreated to AW or maybe MG. And yet, some people are passionate about their love for Estoril! Just goes to show how beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder! -scr |

Check that. edited! I agree that estoril is a weak blue.. however BMW has many classic light blues - fjord blue for example. |
