Recently I plugged my obd reader in and watched the live data oil temp. When it first said "ok" the oil was 50C or so, and when the needle got to the middle the oil was at about 95C. I was surprised because it got there so quick but there you have it needle in the middle means pretty much up to operating temp.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but how to show the oil temp gauge on my X1? The one on the image bellow. I got it visible after a visit to car service and then after another visit it dissapeared.

Not sure which button exactly, but believe I have tried all possible buttons and menus without success. I suspect that it could be the hidden menu which is getting accessed with the sum of the last 5 VIN digit numbers. This is the only one I haven't looked into yet.

In your vehicle's menu you can select what will show when you hit the BC button on the stalk. It's probably unselected to show.
