I agree IF it had the full S55 motor or a detuned version that 3rd parties could "retune". I would bet it handles as well or if not better than a M4 because of weight, all for ~$8k less.
Personally, I'll have to see how the interior stacks to the M4, that's why I sold my 1M - it wasn't a luxurious/nice place to sit.

I really wish BMW made it an unbelievable car and went all in on it...
