I'm seeing that ecu mods (jb4 for instance) don't benefit the M2 as well as the regular 335 /340s. It seems like 335 / 340 crowd sees crazy (unheard of in the NA world) gains while the M2 sees mild increase in power. Given that they are both using N55 engine (few different internals on m2), what explains this discrepancy? Obviously im set on the M2 but was curious on why this is.

Thanks for all ur help!
You're indeed correct, don't even bother with JB4
- There's big development going on with ProTuningFreaks who brought out Tuning Platform named BOOTMOD3. If you want to tune or improve, this is the way to go.
- Like Sean mentioned, enjoy the stock power, and then if you want more start with cooling first such as Intercooler and Downpipes.

A simple put:
M2 has basically a stronger and cooler N55 that is tuned from factory to a higher power state, or maxed out as some like to say. You can say BMW has done most of aftermarket jobs.

There is little left on the table with stock hardwares. You won't be seeing meaningful gains until upgrading downpipe and intercooler.

Hope it helps.
Well said

Can Vendors please stay out of some Support Threads? Boost is not the only way to tune and especially the reason of failure from most JB4 users & Tuners thinking raising boost is enough.

100whp on stock turbo + 93 oct impossible
But we've seen it with Meth or Port Injection E85
