By any chance do you have CarPlay? There is a bug where when I enter the car while an app like Waze is running (there may be other apps too that have this problem) the sound cuts in/out/in/out of the sound system continuously. It even makes the phone unusably slow that it's hard to kill Waze to stop the madness.
