Yes what you're describing could still be an issue but in the vast majority of use cases it will drastically improve safety. For every instance like you're describing where autonomy would increase risk and damage/injury, I'd have to believe there are thousands if not tens of thousands where it would help. I'm talking things like drivers not paying attention and rear ending people, falling asleep at the wheel, etc.

I'd generally agree if its an override it would be a safetynet except I argue this tech makes people lazy and at worse passive drivers and thats just not safe overall for all of us
