Even if it were different oil, it doesn't change BMW's recommendation of under 5500 rpm, under 105(ish) mph, and vary the engine speed as much as possible.

Break in oil is mineral oil, not fully synthetic so it does not have the same protection as synthetic. The last engine I built I broke it in using mineral oil and I have done this on the last 2 engines, I was informed to do this by an engine manufacturer.
