While it sucked to have to fight this, TC Kline's reputation of great customer service in an era where that no longer really exists holds.
Is he the only suspension shop that answers the phone and is a good person? Nah, but they're more and more rare in the performance game so we all need to appreciate what we have.

Glad you got it resolved.
I know the question was a bit rhetorical, but regardless, I had the infamous clunking with my Ohlins R&T that many of us have. Called them and the folks there were understanding, and covered the rebuild on their dime despite me technically being out of their limited warranty period. I had similar woes as you did (added cost to mechanics), and while that sucked, I'm definitely glad to have my problem acknowledged and ultimately resolved too.
