For my New England winter setup for my OG M2, I bought a square set of 18x8" ET32 BBS SR wheels and Michelin X-Ice XI3 Studless snow tires, 245/40 R18. This setup was recommended by others.

I hate it. The car is all over the road and steering is unresponsive on wet and dry pavement. I wish it would snow instead of rain so I can better enjoy the $2200 I spent on the setup. Now I drive my truck around instead of my M2.

I used to drive my '92 750iL V12 with a winter snow tire setup to Vermont and Canada to ski. She could go straight up a snowy icy hill no problem. I don't remember what was on her feet but there was not as much difference as I'm experiencing with my M2's winter vs. summer setup.
