I wonder if you could locate one outside of CA and either have it shipped to CA or fly out and drive it back? The savings would more than pay for it. I did that with the wife's X6. I was able to get such a better deal on a new X6 from a dealer in Cleveland, OH that I bought it and had it shipped to Texas and still saved a few thousand.
I basically just shot emails to the Internet salesman at several dealers around the country and worked a great deal from there. Not that you're going to score a steal on a M2 but you could at least get one at MSRP.
