I am getting conflicting information on the suitability of the ENET cable method of flashing ECU's, some say its a bad idea due to the amount of data being moved during the update and that the chip in the ENET cable is not fast enough. But looking at some ENET diy's, there is no chip and its basically a straight through ethernet connection to the OBD port.

I am almost ready to click the start button in E-Sys, but this new information is bothering me.

Heres where I am at.

Shit sorry man, I haven't been monitoring the forums much.

You need a solid power supply. ENET is fine. I did a FULL update using ENET on the M2 the very first time, went through 100%. I'd suggest skipping idRestore / idBackup. Sometimes it fails and throws error ~ might not complete fully.

I haven't flashed with the new ESYS yet, looks like they prevent checking the options that you don't need which is nice Make sure you're connecting via GW and not VIN if you want to flash ZGW
