...or you don't want to get road salt/chemicals on it, or (as you mention) you don't want to take the significantly higher risk of some non-snow-driving idiot running into it, or you have another car and don't wanna deal with tire-swapping hassle for it.
So I see at least three other things that might make someone not take their M2 out in the snow.
