I'm not a VW expert, but here are my thoughts. This car has been around for over 40 years, and with each generation they make little improvements. Fast forward to today, and you have a car that just feels..."right". The steering feel, build quality, ride, etc...are all superb. But, they don't have a good reliability rating, so I'll keep a close watch on this part.
