It doesn't happen a lot but there are times when the buyer backs out at the last minute, the dealer absolutely should showcase the car on their website. Call ahead, they tell you it's sold, no harm no foul. I saw a local lot had one on their site and went, just to see the vehicle in real life for the first time. Found out it was sold but also found my allocation that day from them and my MY18 will be delivered next week.

I really don't see this as deviant behavior on the dealer's part.
Yes it does if the dealer is Auto Nation for example.

They mark the car incoming on their websites.
