Don't know which trans seal it is-- and I'm suspicious it's a rear main seal, anyway, because the trans seals on the e46 rarely leak. But, without knowing more, can't provide a diy.

Inspection 2:

While you're doing the valve adjustment, spark plugs are just unscrew/screw in.
