I deliberately have to just go and 'drive' around to accomplish break in here during the winter.

Will all the short trips and gentle driving and the engine never being able to properly warm up do any harm?
I purposely drive to warm up to operating temperature preferably when the temperature goes in the middle. The minimum to "OK" if it's an occasional short drive. I have a short commute too so I have to drive just to drive because it's recommended for new engines before break in. But the car is fun so I don't mind all that driving at all!
