I don't believe BMW will install N55. This is rather a marketing trick to keep competition at bay. There is no way N55 will be in M2 in 2016 when new B series engines are coming out. |
I would like to think that this is a gimmick/disguise/not tipping their hat. but either way, an older motor combo did work in the 1m.
However I agree it seems the n55 will be really long in the tooth at that point.
I am still holding out hope that BMW makes an 4 cyl S48 that is similar in design to the S55.
We already know the main competitor in the Cayman will also be a 4 cyl turbo.
