I would only debadge if the amount of lettering gets obtrusive. For example, on the "Porsche 718 Cayman S," that's a lot of letters...but Porsche gives you the option to debage from the factory and just say '718'. (no, it doesn't cost extra
).
I would do it for that particular car.
The "M2," is beautiful in its simplicity and succinctness. I'd keep it and wear it proud.
