Just drove a block from my house to get gas earlier and had a short conversation with a guy at the station.
Guy: Hey man, your car sounds awesome.
Me: Oh, thanks, I didn't even have the valves open.
Guy: Oh, it has valves?
Me: Yeah, it has a comfort setting that is quieter, and a sport setting that opens the exhaust valves and sounds a lot better.
Guy: Interesting, how much did that cost?
Me: Nothing, it's stock.
Guy: Can't beat that. Well, have a good one.
Me: You too, stay healthy.
Guy: You too.
He left before I did, so he didn't get to hear the cold-start, but it was a nice compliment. So notice the M2? Not so much. But notice the exhaust? Several people have commented on it positively.
I think we as owners get used to it and want more, but even in comfort mode the car sounds fantastic.
