Yeah, we're on opposite ends of the car driving spectrum. For that type of driving I would look at an M5. For spirited backroad driving I want to hear as much as possible, and noise on the highway is something I'm willing to sacrifice. It's still a luxury BMW, I doubt they would ever let cabin noise become obnoxious.
Just a thought, they might have removed the felt liner in the wheel wells which I noticed is on the M235i. From the pictures I've seen of the M2 it looks like typical plastic liners.
