It's a $70 fine here in MD for no front tag but it wasn't the fine that finally got me to put the front tag back (on my Miata) after several years of having it off - it was the near-constant harassment from the plethora of cops on the roads around here - I got pulled over & BS'd my way out of a ticket twice before getting hit with the fine on the third and final encounter. In addition, once or twice I managed to 'disappear' when I saw a cop pull out after clearly noticing
my missing front tag.
No doubt the level of enforcement varies by location, but in the Police State of MD, they're really into enforcing it.
As a result, my M2 only went a couple days without the front tag until my Carbonio bracket arrived.
