With the DCT, the difference is dramatic. Comfort + Auto mode drives totally different. I think this comes down to what firmware you had when you got your car. My firmware was 13.5 months old and obviously BMW has tweaked it since then.
What I am experiencing could be normal for you guys - you had newer firmware to start.
