I can see why people compare it to the e36 M3 LTW. But the e36 M3 LTW had less sound deadening material, cloth seats, no air-conditioning, no radio, no trunk lining, a massive wing and a special fabric floor carpet. The E36 M3 Lightweight was around 200 lbs lighter than the standard E36 M3.
This M2 PF edition has nothing similar with that e36 M3 LTW and there is really nothing special about this M2 (besides marketing and a num,her on it). Don't know how much the weight difference will be, but it will be a marginal difference with a normal M2 and nothing noticeable. This is only because they left out some options (like electric seats, HK audio, etc). There is nothing special or specifique on this M2...just some options left out and some other M performance goodies that are fitted (that you could order anyway, in Europe of course).
Personally I have zero excitement about this M2 PF edition and I like my so called lightweight spec (manual seats, manual gearbox) more then this so called "limited edition- marketing" model... They did not even bother to put in the lighter BMW Performance bucket seats with alcantara to make it at least a little more special then a normal M2.
