I'm surprised at my timeline after reading about the back orders on here. But I'm assuming I got very lucky.
7/5/2016: Requested quotes from 6 local dealers via BMW's website
7/6/2016: All but one had wait list and estimated car to be delivered early 2017. One had an open allocation (which I couldn't even believe).
7/7/72016: Placed my order and received production number.
7/28/2016: Entered production.
