You really need to stick to those 4 jack points. You are correct, you cannot go near the diff like you can on some BMW's. There is a front center jack point that is pretty obvious you can use but again the 4 points are best. I do a lot of my own work on cars so I bought the quick jack system which is a portable lift, it is great because it is portable and lifts the cars at their intended lift points and is very safe. 1300 bucks but if you do your own wrenching they are well worth it.
