With the R400 pulling 3.9 seconds and the TT 420 concept pulling 3.7 seconds 0 - 100 who would want the much slower M2 at circa 4.5 seconds. There would have to be some pretty special features to the M2 to overlook the difference. And anyone that says power / speed is not everything, then go buy a 220i and be done with it, if you're honest its the reason we buy these cars, not the only reason, but major factor.
There are plenty of other brilliant cars coming online in the next 1 - 2 years to keep me from locking myself into an M2 at this point.

HP wars are useless. the TT-RS had 360hp when it came to the US....the 1M had 335hp.....the 1M was slower than a TT-RS in a straight line, but superior in every other way.
i'd be very pleased with 360-370hp on an M2 and great, great handling with a beautiful singing inline-6 instead of a nasty sounding 4-banger.
