My dealer told me to keep it below 5k revs so that’s what I’ve done... but he didn’t mention no WOT or avoiding “full load” like the manual does. I was a bit annoyed when reading this the other day because while I haven’t exceeded 5k revs I’ve definitely driven the car solidly, with plenty of WOT up to 5k - always when engine is warm, and without any super hard shifts (MT).
I’ve mostly city driven it which has helped with constantly varying the rpm but I will be doing a mini road trip this week to help reach 1200miles on the odo, so will just try to vary speeds on the highway.
Overall I tend to favour driving the car reasonably solid during break in rather than baby it, but that’s just me, it’s certainly not based on superior technical knowledge.
Man it’s hard not to go nuts though, the car is just begging to be redlined
