The RE-71Rs are great for the track! They have great all-around grip, even in the wet. They do wear faster than most tires although that is to be expected. The tire is very noisy and when the temp drops get flat-spots. Not a good street tire, especially in the cool or cold weather. They do require heat before being pushed.
As everyone else has said they are terrible for the street. Had them on my last car. I vividly recall driving around and around in my local parking garage when it was in the upper 30s and wet. Just turning those tight parking garage corners at about 5 MPH on cold wet tires caused them to slip and the car to plow. Crazy. Loss of control at 5 MPH. It was like I was on ice.

Also agree on the noise. Super loud.
