I know it's hard to believe, I was also surprised. I made a spreadsheet of the ~60 dealers within a one-day roadtrippable distance. I called nearly every one and basically said whoever gives me the best price earns my business. The first few days, the lowest I got was MSRP. After about a week, I got an offer for $1k under MSRP. I was three hours away from leaving work and heading to that dealer to put down my deposit when another dealer called me and offered $2k under MSRP. I immediately accepted, put down my (only) $500 deposit, and am happy and patiently waiting for week 38.
