I don't see them dropping the 235i altogether. I think the other speculation here is more likely; the M235i becomes the 235i and gets the vanilla tune N55 (or whatever 3.0L turbo is mainstream at the time) right at 300 HP. The 75 HP spread, along with the dramatically better suspension on the M2 will be plenty of differentiator to draw M-buyers in to the M2.

Word. I don't even have the adaptive suspension on my M3, and I find it just as compliant as my 135i was, if not more so.
