I run R1 vs R1s because they only give up a couple 10ths and last twice as long...

I have posted about this....I have track tested over 6 different tires/sizes on my M2 mostly on 18/9.5 square, lowered on MP coilovers. The 265/35/18 R1 set up is my overall favorite, great grip over most temps, long wear and no rubbing on high compression.
