The Motul HT is actually a tiny bit thinner than OEM fluid at 40 C and has a -69 C pour point so you’d think it’d be at least as good in the cold. The viscosity index is lower, so at some super low temp they will cross over, but I think the shift feel is possibly more dependent on friction modifiers etc since they are all thin fluids.

Yeah most likely, not sure why the motul behaved worse.
