I have been thinking about reverse engineering the control module. There are bunch of unused pins. If we are lucky just shorting couple of them will do what we are trying to do. I will keep you posted.
Meanwhile I cut the foam pool noodle to create an insert into the door bottle holder. That works pretty well for holding the remote.
