Do you think the M2 was intentionally handicapped from a weight perspective so another lighter model (CSL) could be introduced in the near future. There is almost no CF on the M2 which also goes against a statement he had made in an earlier interview (About M cars) where he was questioned about weight savings on the M4 GTS to which he responded stating that the base M4 was already light and further savings would not be easy to accomplish.

If BMW M gave the M2 the same weight savings treatment as the GTS but without the roll cage, the car could be seriously lighter I think, thereby validating it's CSL name.
