I am hoping that the M2 CS will be right in the sweet spot between the F80 and a 981 - a little more DD capability than the 981, but a little more rawness and emotion than the F80.
And I really like my F80 - there's just a little something missing in the emotion department...

It just goes to show how dynamic car shopping can be
but I agree! I have no regrets getting the Cayman as I have now tasted the P-car kool-aid and it tastes good
but I do miss the versatility of the F80 at times. No, I don't need four doors and back seats but it is nice to have and comes in handy. Emotionally, I wasn't connected to the F80; I think 75% of that came from trying DCT and not liking it that much; I got pretty bored of it. Plus I had a 2015 civic M3. I think a 6mt ZCP LCI M3 would have been a keeper. I also traded in my first M car ever (and favorite car I've ever owned) my 6mt e92 M3. I jumped the gun by selling that car so quickly. Being my first M and truthfully the M car that got me interested in BMW in the first place, I was in love with that car. But BMW got me with my need for "latest and greatest"... nowadays I couldn't care less about that lol
I have some big ticket purchases coming up in the not-so-distant future (wedding, new house, more rescue dogs lol) so I need to be conscious of my car-buying.. the base M2 seems to tick most of the compromise boxes. I'd love the CS but it'll most likely be a bit more than I'm looking to spend right now. However, I'm thrilled by the idea of it!
