And both of those former two are stupid contrivances designed to sell in the US, because most Americans refuse to see the utility of the hatchback because they're apparently still blinded by the old "station wagon" stigma, or something.

yep, hatches are awesome. Sedans don't interest me too much, give me a coupe or a hatchback.
I will say that the RS3 looks to be really nice. Maybe that 5-cylinder engine can liven up the car some. I like my Golf R but it is a pretty boring car and the DSG does not help it any in that area.
