It may be possible to get close to same gains from just lowering the TMAP pressure reading. If the turbo is already running beyond its efficiency, heat will start building up with much more than a couple PSI anyway. The turbo is so maxed out as it is, we've have seen problems at peak power with the stock system running 91oct! My guess is any margin BMW put in there for altitude compensation would be as much as you'd want out of the stock setup.
