Why is that? Wider width enables wider tires to be mounted. With proper set up, it should provide more contact patch to pavement. |
Going with a wheel 2" wider in the rear will allow a much wider tire and indeed much more contact patch at the rear. All this extra grip at the rear is great for traction and launching and smoky burnouts. Also looks cool with dished out rears. However , when you are hustling into a corner, on back roads or a track the car will understeer... Check that.. *Plow* ... With a 50 mmm wider tire in the rear.
If you want the car to still corner, put as much tire as you can up front first ...
