Plus the M2 and M4 will open up new customers, making it highly improbable to hurt BMW M4 sales because the demand for the M2 is so Huge.
New customers are buying the new M4 and so will the M2. Two different markets cause of size.
Last week at the Braman dealership in Palm Beach a guy sold his 1M (small car) for the M4 (bigger car) and the only reason he bought the M4 is cause the M2 is not available as yet. (he didn't find the M235i was aggressive enough.
He also said he is going to buy the M2 when it comes out. (small car).
For BMW this is a Win - Win

M4 sales will be there so there is no need for BMW to worry about cutting into their sales. If they limit production of the M2 its less profit for such a highly demanded car.
